In midsummer, under the majestic cottonwood trees, we will gather for six days of passion, inspiration, good food, amazing conversation, and creative spontaneity. We will hold two workshops most days, all designed around one central concept: the imaginative storm. Workshops are relevant to writers in all disciplines. Our goal is to open doors in your imagination, to expand your sense of play and exploration, and above all to find your writing's source in joy.
TAOS
From the earliest Indian times, to the late 1800s when travelers from east of the Mississippi discovered Taos, until the present day, creative people have found inspiration in the looming grandeur of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, the untamable waters of the Rio Grande, the deep, dramatic gash of the Gorge, and, in the distance, wave upon wave of volcanic horizons.
D. H. Lawrence, Aldous Huxley, Carl Jung, Stephen Spender, Georgia O'Keeffe, Agnes Martin, Francesco Clemente, Bill T. Jones, all spent time here. Walk in their footsteps. Drink in the pure mountain air, spicy with the scent of sagebrush. Expand your inner landscape as the vastness of the high desert stretches around you. Discover wellsprings of energy and imagination that you never knew you had.
