I’ve gained a broad and deep understanding of my potential as a writer. I’ve been reunited with myself as a creative being who can create the conditions where I can delve into the brown-black pit of the belly where the words come from.

I’ve never attended any conference or workshop in which the principals worked so diligently to make the attendees comfortable and pleased. The willingness of the staff to give of themselves and their skills is truly unique. I look forward to the next adventure. -Mary Bryant
Navé & Allegra, your combined energies infused the group allowing all of us to open up and find treasure within. You provided a non-threatening accepting environment. Bless you both. Keep up the good work. -Pat Meeter
Having all the presenters participate at every session, including meals, was a real pleasure. It was also an invaluable opportunity to soak up even more of their experience and knowledge and a real plus in building my writing community. -Kim Parsons
I most enjoyed the writing assignments. The format of small group readings was efficient and effective. The schedule seemed appropriate, considering that many attendees were burning up limited vacation time. The week far exceeded my own vague expectations as a fledgling scribbler. The group was incredible. -Robert Curran
The Writing Salon set a tone of maturity from the beginning and cultivated this pace and temper by continually focusing on and encouraging us to surrender to the exuberance of writing as a beloved craft. I want to emphasize the expansive, skillful, and honoring spirit conveyed and encouraged throughout the week. -Michael Hyatt
I liked the idea of exploring visual arts as well as writing. I especially enjoyed that the presenter were a part of each others workshops as students themselves. It made it feel less like writers speaking from on high and more like a writing community. -Sandra Mckenna
I am so excited to be part of this wonderful artist community. I write like crazy these days.....hours a day....and it has been generated by the encouragement and exercises I've received in the workshops. It's great to be on board this lovely vessel of life. -Kathleen Barich
The Taos Writer's Salon was a life changing experience for me, as a writer and a creator. The Salon was very different from other workshops I have attended. I've thought a lot about what made Taos so unique, and I have finally recognized that what I received during my days at the Writer's Salon was unconditional, heartfelt support and encouragement to explore the creative process and grow as a writer. Rather than analyzing and dissecting our written work, the facilitators and the participants worked together to explore the creative process and it's application to our personal endeavors. While there were plenty of opportunities to schedule private critique time with the outstanding producers of the Salon, I truly appreciated the way the program was tailored to inspire all levels and genres of writers. I especially loved the sense of community that we developed during the time we spent together; and I have kept in close contact with several of the writers I met in Taos. These new connections have been fundamental in helping me pursue my dreams of taking my writing to a higher level. After leaving Taos, I applied for, and have been accepted to an MFA program in poetry at Vermont College. I am thrilled to be moving forward with my writing; and I can say, without reservation, that all of this has come about as a direct result of my participation with the Taos Writer's Salon. -Christy Ferrati
